The Cool Chain Excellence Awards 2012 sponsored by SWISS WorldCargo saw a glittering,magical event held at the Congress Center Basel Switerzland.
Pharma IQ announced much awaited winners for the Life Science Logistic Partner of the Year and Innovation in Quality Distribution Award.
Winner of the Life Science Logistic Partner of the Year Award
Hoffmann La Roche asked all of its 3PLs to do roll out Cold Chain Training. K+N is the first external logistics supplier to execute the CCT on a global basis outside of Roche. The training program, when completely rolled out through all of Kuehne + Nagel‘s GLOBAL PHARMA NETWORK, at more than 60 locations around the world, will enhance understanding of cold chain handling and benefit all of their pharma customers. By November 2011, 555 participants received the CCT training by K+N over 60 seminars. At the end of the day, this will help patients receive quality medicines. The training at K+N has opened lines of communication between the two companies that enable continuous process improvement.

Envirotainer - Advanced Air Freight Active Container for all Temperature Ranges
The RAP e2 container draws on the benefits of the already established and proven electrical heating and compressor cooling technology. The RAP e2 container is an innovative solution that offers reduced shipping costs while still providing the same high level of quality. As an LD-9 sized container, suitable to fit five Euro or four US pallets, the RAP e2 container ensures seamless handling of large volume shipments throughout the supply chain.”
